Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Officejet 3831 printer has been acting up from day 1 more or less, but in the last months, it is impossible.

Every time I want to print I need to run the HP print and scan Doctor.  Most of the time it then prints everything in the queue, but sometimes I need to restart between tries.

Hp doctor sometimes reports a problem with the document feeder being open, but it is not. By then the documents in the queue has been printed, so I just select skip and close. It is a bit of an annoyance so I would like to solve it.
Both printer and computer are connected to a WiFi network, no cables here.

Any suggestions? Is it the printer that sends out a wrong signal or my computer that is the problem?

Is there a way to remove everything from my computer and reinstall the printer software? As this has been a problem for a long time, I might have tried to install different drivers and software found on the HP site...

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

Please note that this is not the standard HP Print and Scan Doctor, but a version specifically intended to resolve this kind of behavior.
