HP Officejet 6500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there.

I have an HP Officejet 6500. Earlier, I had a paper jam and cleared it the way I usually do, through the rear. However, after this, the printer would get jammed every time i tried printing thereafter. This continued for around 5 pages thereafter. By this point, i cancelled the print from my laptop and restarted the printer. I then tried printing again, but the same exact problem persisted.

I then reset the printer to factory defaults. The same thing happened one last time, when I got a message saying "To avoid damage, press the ON button, then restart the printer". I did that, but thereafter, the same message was shown again. However, this time, it only lasted for around 3 seconds, before being replaced by "Paper Jam".

After experiencing this for around an hour, I decided to press the "#" key and 3. Nothing changed. Same with #6 and #9. The only change after #9 was that now it says "Initializing" for a short while, before being replaced by the "Paper Jam" error.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the paper jam message on your Officejet 6500 printer.  I would suspect the duplexer is not properly latched on both sides, it may help to remove and re-insert the duplexer.
