New black ink cartridge wouldn't print. Ran all tests: quality, printheads, align. Spent hour on phone with India. Re ran all tests for them.
They & I decided it had to be bad cartridge. Replaced cartridge with new one. Still no black printing.
What should I try next?

I do not normally recommend this, but I have seen some cases where people have reported success in cleaning the service station area. To do this you will need a flashlight and some long swabs - the kind with foam on the end are ideal. Open the lid and allow the carriage to move to the center. Remove the ink supplies and set them aside, then remove the printhead and put it in to soak as described in this post. Now unplug the printer and gently move the carriage to the extreme left. This would allow better access to the service station area which is at the right. Use a flashlight to see into the service area. There are a set of rubber wipers that will likely be toward the rear of the service station. Clean these gently with damp swabs. Basically you will want to celan the upper parts of the service station, do not worry about ink in the bottom part. Also clean the scraper, a plastic edge toward the front of the service station. There will likely be lots of ink and inky sludge - clean it as best you can but it is not necessary to get it all. Once the service station area has been cleaned take the printhead out of its soak, clean any excess ink from around the edges, dry the electrical contacts and replace the printhead and cartridges.
