HP 6700 Officejet premium printer not printing. The error I receive on the console is: There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn off then on. If issue persists, contact HP. I turned the printer on and off, unplugged, plugged in. Does not print.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Ink System Failure" error.
Let's try these steps to reset the printer -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
If the issue still persists, try step#2 from here.

Thanks so much for your assistance. I ended up going to my Staples store where I bought the printer in 2013. I was going to purchase new cartridges when I realized they were $76, so I opted to purchase a new HP printer.
