Hello guys, need some advice for our Officejet 7612. Around a month ago, one of my colleagues forgot to adjust the feeder to fit the size of paper she was using. This caused a paper jam during printing. She successfully removed the jam but afterwards, the printer kept showing the same error "Printhead is missing, not installed correctly".
We did all the troubleshooting tips and even reseated the printhead. Still shows the same error. I can't believe a simple paperjam would cause so much trouble, never had this issue with all my past personal HP printers. Hopefully you guys have some idea how to fix this or else, will have to order a new printhead.

I understand that you are getting "Printhead is missing, not installed correctly" after a paper jam.
This could be a hardware issue with the unit.
Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.
You may follow the steps in the link: Missing or Failed Printhead Error
You may also follow the steps in the link: A 'Paper Jam' Error

I just had this problem too.
If you are like me and are about to throw in the towel, throw this unit out and get a new one, I decided to mess with the printer thinking it couldn't get any more broken.
I flicked a bit around on the print head, and VOILA! it was fixed.
See picture:
It's not reading the printhead and this bit seemed loose. It seemed to have worked so far... This is on the very back of the printhead.... on the track it runs on. I hope this helps everyone 🙂

Tried your idea, and it did not work unfortunately.
There appears to be three positions/rotations that the white cam shaft can take.
I did see that the cam shaft also decides which of the pressure/vaccumn pipes is rotated by how much with a pair of plastic fingers between which a bar from the cam shaft slides.
I have also completely removed the prinhead, and cleaned the contacts on the back of the circuit board on the head.
These contact points, on the board, transfer signals into the ink wells through 8 springs.
The contancts and the springs had really bad green corrosion on them. I used very fine (2000 grit) paper to polish the contacts.
I cleaned the springs too, and still not relief on the missed printhead message.
Would love to get more details about what the printer thinks is wrong.

This worked for me also. Just messed around with the white plastic thing on the back of the printhead until the printhead got stuck on the right side of the carriage, then spun the white plastic thing one notch up and it started working!
