HP Officejet Pro 6835
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

This is the worst printer I have ever known.  Thank goodness for the warranty.  I am on my second printer.  It was working fine until today.

I have used the Print and Scan Doctor.  It updated some of my software but still won't print.

I have turned the printer on and off.

Still have ink and paper.

Not sure what else to do.

Hi @fisher6188, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @A4Apollo, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.

Thanks for the reply, once you have deleted the printer software, you would get it back on your computer when you reinstall the printer software.

Please try the suggested procedure and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted.

Hi! @fisher6188, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have issues printing from your printer.

Don't worry I'd love to help you out.

Are you able to make a copy from your printer?

Do you get any error messages while printing?

Please try the steps recommended below.

The printer firmware might be outdated or corrupted. Download the latest firmware version for your printer.
Turn on the printer.
If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.
Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
If prompted, select a method to identify your printer model, and then follow the on-screen instructions to go to the download page.
Click Firmware, and then click Download.
Use the HP Download and Install Assistant for a guided firmware download and installation, or select Download only to manually open or run the driver file through your Internet browser’s download tools.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot printer printing Blank Page.

Let me know how it goes!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Hello,

Thank you for your offer to help.

Yes, I can make a copy.  The test page prints.  No error message when trying to print.  Nothing happens.  I am connected by wi-fi and the blue light is steady - not blinking.

I downloaded the firmware per your directions and got a message that it had been successfully updated.  I also got a printed "Printer Status Report."

I tried to print a document from my computer and it still would not print.  No error messages - just nothing happens.

Any other thoughts?

Thank you!

@fisher6188, It's great to hear from you again, I was much waiting for your response.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Please uninstall the printer software from the root level and install the latest printer drivers.

1. Navigate to Start >Type Devices and Printers in the Search > Select it from the results

2. Highlight your printer object and Right Click

3. Choose Remove Device

4. Highlight something else from the list

5. Click the Print Server Properties button from the toolbar

6. Select the Drivers Tab

7. Highlight the appropriate print driver

8. Click Remove

9. Check the Remove Driver and Driver Package option when prompted

10. Click OK

Please update the printer software using this link.

Let me know if this works!

Take Care! 🙂

@fisher6188, Thanks for your quick response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

I would suggest download Revo uninstaller on your PC and run the application.

It should delete all the printer files from your PC.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

If I do that and delete all the printer files, how do I get them back?
