HP Officejet Pro 6970
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since the last auto firmware upgrade on 2020-06-17, colour print smearing has been an issue.

Normal black on white is OK.

When solid colour is used, especially Blue and Greens then they come out as Blue and pink or Green and yellow ink bands across the whole page.

I have updated to latest version of drivers.

Colour cartridge levels are good and just put in new Instant ink cartridges.

Diagnostics run and Cleaned Printheads L1 thru L3, Printer Cleaner, and Alignment tests using the OJ6970 Printer Assistant.

Also run these using the EWS tools, and also the HP Printer Scan Doctor.

ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS AS TO  A SOLUTION GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks.

I found this link on the forum with similar issues, but with no solution.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/HP-6970-Blue-printing-in-a-banner-streaks-with-red/m-p...

However, it has a useful link to a HP Support page that contains a systematic troubleshooting guide for the OJ Pro 6970.

Basically if this does not solve the issue, then its a Support call.

Spooky, but the issue i have started just 1 month after warranty ended!!!!!!
