I've tried cleaning the printhead through the control panel options, no luck. I've removed the cartridges and cleaned them and the contacts on the carriage. I don't have a latch on the cartridge carriage to remove the carriage and clean it. What else can I do to fix this printhead problem?

  4. Reconnect the power cord: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer.

Reinsert Cartridges

  1. Open the cartridge access door: Allow the carriage to move to the center and stop.
  2. Remove cartridges: Press each cartridge to release and remove it from the slot.
  3. Inspect cartridges: Check for damages and ensure no protection remains on the ink nozzles.
  4. Reinstall cartridges: Insert each cartridge back into its slot until it clicks into place.
  5. Close the access door: Ensure the door is securely closed.

Clean the Printer Contacts

  1. Prepare cleaning materials: Use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the contacts.
  2. Disconnect power: Ensure the printer is turned off and unplugged.
  3. Open the cartridge access door: Access the carriage.
  4. Clean the contacts on cartridges and inside the printer: Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts.
  5. Reinsert cartridges: Place the cartridges back into their slots.
  6. Reconnect the power: Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Perform Automatic Printhead Cleaning

  • If manual cleaning and reinsertion do not resolve the printhead error, you can perform an automated cleaning from the control panel:
    1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.
    2. On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow, and then touch Setup.
    3. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Printhead.

I hope this helps.
