This is probably my third or fourth HP printer over the last 15 years. This is maybe one year old and I have managed to print on it 3-4 times. Just replaced the ink and of course when I need it to work, it doesn't. Wifi direct, HP "Smart" all a joke! That this company has such a large share of the printer market is disgusting. I know several people who say the same thing. The printer never works when you want it to and each time you have to trouble shoot it.

Hi @AK8888,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet Pro 8020 Series. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
May I know:
Do you see any lights blinking on the control panel of the printer?
Have you observed any error codes on the display?
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware
