My HP Officejet Pro 8600 (Model: N911a) (Product No. CM749) has been a great piece of equipment for a long time. About a year ago, the display started getting fuzzy but since it didn't affect my typical use, I didn't care. Well, now I want to connect some smart phones to be able to print wirelessly, and I can't navigate the menus because the display is unreadable.
I tried detaching and reattaching the 2 ribbon cables in case it was an oxidation issue but that didn't fix anything. I tried to reinstall drivers but there was an error when doing so. So, I've decided the best way for me to fix the problem is likely to replace the display.
Well, finding a display for this model is difficult. There seems to be a lot more inventory out there for the CM750. I have 2 questions. First, what is the exact part I'm looking for and where can I buy it. Second, can I use a similar part from the CM750 model (https://www.ebay.com/c/2172445420).
With respect to the first question, can anyone explain to me the differences, if any, between these parts for the CM749 and which is the exact part I need:
1. CM749A-CONTROL_PANEL - http://www.partshere.com/online/detail.asp?partno=CM749A-Control_Panel
2. CM749A-DISPLAY - http://www.partshere.com/online/detail.asp?partno=CM749A-Display
3. CM749-60021 - http://www.partshere.com/online/detail.asp?partno=CM749-60021

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
The display is not a customer replaceable part. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!
