Hi @lori208430,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially after a power outage when your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 shows a solid blue light (indicating Wi-Fi connection) but won’t communicate with your HP ENVY Desktop running Windows 11. This usually points to a network or driver issue caused by the outage. Let’s fix it step by step:

Step 1: Confirm Printer is Online

  • Solid blue light means Wi-Fi is active, but verify:
    • On the printer: Wireless icon → Network Status → Connected.
    • Print a Wireless Network Test Report:
Setup → Reports → Wireless Test Report.

Step 2: Restart Devices

  • Power cycle the printer, router, and desktop PC.
  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).

Step 3: Check Printer Status in Windows

  • Press Windows + R, type control printers, and hit Enter.
  • Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 → Set as Default Printer.
  • Ensure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.

Step 4: Reinstall Printer Driver

Step 5: Run HP App

Step 6: Check Firewall/VPN

  • Disable VPN temporarily.
  • Allow HP app and printer services through your firewall.
