My printer has stopped recognizing its ink cartridges. At first the problem only happened occasionally and could be fixed by installing and reinstalling the cartridges, or just waiting for a couple of days, but now it's continuous.

When I turn the printer on, it immediately gives me an error message (no code), saying that it cannot find the cartridges. All four are marked on the screen as not found. I have followed the troubleshooting instructions here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04090902

The cartridges are genuine, they're the ones that came with the printer. I have removed them, checked the contacts on all four. They didn't look damaged or unclean, but used a cloth to clean them all anyway. Put them back in, didn't help. Checked the latch, it was in the correct position. I even tried the restarting to no avail.

I tried replacing one of the cartridges with a new one (again, genuine HP product), but the printer does not find the replacement either. And considering that all the cartridges have failed at the same time, I find it difficult to belive the problem lies in them.

I'm from Finland, and I have not found a phone number I could call for help. Does one even exist for my country?

This is a recurring problem with HP printers. Their printers are designed with an program that deters non-HP cartridges from easily being used. The program also sometimes prevents original or replacement HP cartridges from being recognized and used. It's a design issue known to HP, which they'll deny exists. This unethical business practice will prevent me from ever purchasing a HP prduct again in my lifetime. I refuse to do business with companies who secretly do business programs like this. It's WRONG!
