Officejet Pro 6830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Officejet Pro 6830 all new OEM cartridges. When directed to print web pages, it will print all colors and grayscale, but NO BLACK TEXT. When printing from Word, it will print all colors, but computer BLACK TEXT comes out as WHITE on the printout. (I used a color background . . . the letters are THERE, but, obviously, don't show on white paper.) It does not matter whether black online text is REGISTRATION or BLACK, it won't show up. I have put in 3 different black cartridges, cleaned and aligned printheads 20 times, deleted and reloaded printer drivers, but nothing works.

Provost/sabretooth04. I googled like crazy for a solution before I posted the question to the forum, which is why I tried all the things I mentioned in my first post. I googled to find a picture of the "test pattern," which was about the only piece of information mentioned in the article to which you referred me which I had not already seen or already tried. What bothered me about the test pattern I saw was that the color bars were there . . . but there was no black bar. The document you pointed out to me showed that there was supposed to be a black gray test bar below the color bar series. One very strange thing is that, on a different test sheet where solid bars of each color printed, I saw each solid sample bar BRACKETED in black.

[magenta] [yellow] [cyan]  (The "[" and "]" were black)

I may not have the color sequence correct since I am home now  . . . and was working on my parents' printer last evening.

Anyway, I was seeing black ink on the page. (bracketing the colors)

On the line below the color bars, I had black brackets with a BIG BLANK SPACE between them where the black bar should have been. So the printer can PRINT black ink, but if I TELL it to print registration or black, it does not know HOW to print black ink. I think it is a software or firmware issue . . . but, as I mentioned in my first post, I have already reinstalled the drivers. Any more ideas?
