HP Officejet Pro X476dw Multifunction Printer

My printer started flashing all lights on the display panel and the power button with error code C8190014.

On the display it says “Printer Error”

“Please turn Printer off, then on”

I’ve done that multiple times but no avail.

Hello Hgardizi;

You can try a Power Drain:

  • Remove all cartridges.
  • Turn printer off.
  • Unplug all cables: ethernet, USB and power cable.
  • With the printer unplugged keep the Power button pressed for 2 minutes.
  • After that, make sure you connect your printer directly to the power outlet and turn it on.

If problem persists, please take the unit to a Certified Repair Center for further inspection.

This error code indicates a failure of the print bar mechanism. (printhead). If the printbar has failed the cost of repair will exceed the price of replacement. As these devices are not end of life with HP I would not advise spending much money in diagnosing or repairing it.

As these devices are end of service life, it is probably time to purchase a new printer. As the error indicates a failure of the printbar and that part easily exceeds the price of a new laser based device, I cannot recommend pursuing further repairs.
