I have a new iMAC with macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. I’m connected with a USB cable to my old HP Office Jet Pro 8600 N911a and I have downloaded the corresponding software but when I try to print I get the message: ”Printing. Waiting for the printer to be available.” And then nothing happens. I can use the scanner function without problems. When I print from my Macbook air with the same printer there is no problem.
What can I do?

Hi,
Please make sure your macOS is fully up to date by installing any update for Catalina:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541
Next, uninstall any existing HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller Utility below:
Next, download and install the latest drivers below:
Finally, open System Preferences, and then open Printers & Scanners to re-add your printer. be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu.
