Hi @paulhowell ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Officejet 4630 All-in-One printer is experiencing issues with copying and scanning but still prints from a PC and iPhone X, there may be several potential causes for this problem.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing problems.
  • Clear Paper Jams: Check for any paper jams or obstructions in the printer's paper path. Even a small piece of torn paper can cause issues.
  • Clean the Scanner Glass: If the scanner glass is dirty or smudged, it can affect the scanning quality. Clean the glass thoroughly with a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your PC and iPhone X. You can download and install the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Reset Printer Settings: Resetting the printer to its default settings may help resolve certain issues. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to reset it.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address various issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Perform a Hardware Reset: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for a few minutes. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on. This can sometimes reset the printer's hardware components and resolve issues.

I hope this helps.
