Hello, recently I found an unused but labeled as "in working condition" HP PSC 1210 and brought it to my office. When power is applied there is no movement or noises and 7 leds and an "8" in the copies display is solid on (please see the picture), and it remains in this condition. I have been searching around but did not find any mention of this error. Can someone please help?

Hi @Tanvir734,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're describing with your HP PSC 1210 printer indicates a hardware problem. The fact that there is no movement or noise when you apply power suggests that there may be an internal issue with the printer's components. The solid "8" on the display and the seven LEDs could indicate a specific error code or issue, but without access to the printer's service manual or diagnostic codes, it can be challenging to pinpoint the exact problem.
Here are some general steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if it doesn't make any noise, it's possible that there could be a paper jam inside the printer. Open all the access doors and check for any paper jams or foreign objects that may be obstructing the printer's mechanisms.
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute or two, and then plug it back in. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve minor issues.
- Check for Ink or Toner Issues: If your printer uses ink or toner cartridges, ensure that they are properly installed and have enough ink or toner to complete the printing task.
- Reset the Printer: Some printers have a reset button or a combination of buttons that can be pressed to reset the printer to its default settings. Refer to your printer's user manual to find out if there's a reset procedure for your specific model.
- Inspect for Hardware Damage: Carefully inspect the printer for any visible signs of damage, loose cables, or disconnected components. Pay close attention to the paper feed mechanism, carriage assembly, and sensors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
