I have a Hewlett-Packard PSC 1510xi All-in-One Printer (Product Number Q5881A).
I have installed a new genuine HP 92 Black ink cartridge and a new genuine 93 Tri-color ink cartridge. The Black and Color indicators are on and not flashing. No other indicators are flashing. If I check the ink levels, both ink cartridges are shown near maximum. Apparently it's ready to go.

I have tried to print test pages and documents on this printer over a USB connection from my desktop computer running Kubuntu 19.10 Linux and from my laptop running both Windows 10 and Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon.

The results are the same for all attempts. The printer starts up and advances the paper. I can hear the ink cartridges going back and forth inside. After a several seconds, the paper is ejected from the printer but there is nothing printed. No ink has reached the paper.

I have unplugged both the power cord and the USB cable, waited a minute and plugged both cables back in. That doesn't help. I've waited for 30 minutes and then tried a print job again. No ink on paper. I'm using plain paper that is fresh from the package. It is not wrinkled nor curled. There are no streaks nor faded images on the paper. No ink at all.

Using the Cancel and Start Copy > Color buttons on the printer, I tried to print a test report. The machine goes through the motions but no ink makes it to the paper.

What can I do to get this printer to perform?

Does this happen while copying too?

 

If you insert your old ink cartridges, are you able to print at least something?

 

Also, try cleaning the cartridges from the HP Software installed on the Computer.

I have tried the copy function. The printer goes through the scan and print motions but the output paper is blank.

I have tried other ink cartridges. Those are a failure too.

I have cleaned the cartridges but that has not changed the situation.

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as this could be a hardware issue.
