HP Photosmart 6525 won't read ink cartridges

I replaced my black cartridge a few months ago and ever since the printer isn't printing anything. It spits out blank sheets of paper every time I do diagnostic and test prints and no matter what I do nothing seems to work. I've updated drivers recently and tried my best to clean out the inside of the printer but it's pretty spotless even after years of moderate use. Not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated!

I see that the printer does not print in black and I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. 

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues, and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
