HP Photosmart D110

I have replaced the black ink in my printer (and removed the sticker) and under the "Estimated Ink Levels" it reads as almost full, but when I go to print, it is only printing blank pages. I tried the "Clean Printhead" option and then tried to print a quality report and even align the printer but everything just keeps coming out blank. The ink itself is HP 60 ink (what it said to put in the printer). I am at a loss as to what to try next. I don't want to buy new ink and then it not work again and just have to get a whole new printer and be out that money. Help is appreciated. THanks.

Hi @chelseya,

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, it certainly looks like an issue with the printer while I’m not sure about which specific print head is at fault.

Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

To further isolate the issue, I need to know whether the printer can make a "Photocopy" or not.

Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the black copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

If the copy also comes out blank, then the issue could be with the print head of the printer or a faulty cartridge. You can clean the print head as suggested in the document you shared to try and fix the issue.

If the copy comes out fine, then the printer hardware is good and the issue could be with the printer drivers. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers could fix the issue in such cases.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

I have the exact same problem, tried the hard reset and the copy, and nothing was on the page that came out. i have ink, I've cleaned the print head, and neither quality nor status reports print. They try to, but the pages are blank as the copy was.
