HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

A technician installed a new Gen 3 ROGERS Ignite WiFi Gateway yesterday.

MODEM> ROGERS Ignite WiFi Gateway (GEN 3)

My printer won't connect to the new WiFi. Are there issues connecting some older printers to the new modems?

I'm using the 2.4 GHz band.

-----

So far, I've tried the following:

1) Basic "Wireless Setup Wizard" on the printer panel (has always worked before)

2) WiFi Protected Setup, using the WPS push button on the modem (done properly )

3) WiFi Protected Setup, using web-based router ADMIN (via connection/wifi menu > Add Wi-Fi client-WPS using Push Button)

4) WiFi Protected Setup, using web-based router ADMIN (via connection/wifi menu > Add WiFi client-WPS using PIN #)

5) Using web-based router admin, "Manually adding permitted device" using device name and printer's wireless MAC address. It won't accept the MAC address. It adds the device but then a few minutes later, the MAC address turns to ZEROs I may have the wrong device name? I tried using the "hostname" listed on printer config page, as well as model/product name but nothing has worked.

Soooooooooooooooo......

ALL the basics are covered. I've done all 5 (above) several times each.I'm choosing the correct network (YES), I have tried restarting printer and router (YES). The printer is not connecting, nor appearing in the list of devices in Ignite Home Connect.

The ONLY thing I can't be sure of is that when I go through the steps using #1 WIRELESS SETUP WIZARD, it shows the correct network name and correct password, but there is also a line that says "Security: WPA Passphrase". No idea what that means! WHAT IS the WPA SECURITY PASSPHRASE? Is that a factor? 🤔

--- IS THIS MODEM JUST NOT GOING TO ACCEPT AN HP A7F65 PRINTER? If so, I want the old router back....

I have spent an entire work day on this and can't afford to lose another minute of work time.

HELP

Spoiler
Tried PIN via web-based admin.Tried PIN via web-based admin.Tried WPS Push Botton: 1) Push button on router, and option 2) pairing "push button" from web-admin for router (neither approach worked)Tried WPS Push Botton: 1) Push button on router, and option 2) pairing "push button" from web-admin for router (neither approach worked)

Just to confirm, you gave the 2.4Ghz channel a different SSID than the 5Ghz? You provide a great amount of detail (thank you) but it is not clear if you did that.

Yes, the 2.4 GHz SSID has network name and 2.5 next to it, so I am sure I chose the correct one.

Other things that I tried...

I tried resetting printer to default network settings (before trying the above)

And I called ROGERS tech support. They walked me through the same things.

They gave up.

Confirmed, yes. I used the correct SSID. The 2.4GHz band has a unique name.
