Every time I try to go into printer properties it's says function address 0x00007FF81DA75369 caused a protection fault.

(exception code 0xe06d7363) The application property sheet page(s) may not function properly.  Can you show me step by step to correct this problem. Thanks!

@sn851, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are facing with accessing the printer properties. The error message you are encountering typically indicates a system-related issue that might involve printer drivers or Windows updates. Here are some steps you might consider to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Restart Your Computer:

  • Before proceeding with complex troubleshooting, restart your PC to see if the problem persists. This simple step can often resolve temporary software glitches.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Uninstall the existing printer drivers:
    • Press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter.
    • Navigate to Printers, right-click your printer, and select Uninstall device.
  • After the uninstall is complete, install the newly downloaded drivers.

Run Windows Update:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates, and ensure all updates are installed.

Check for Corrupted System Files:

  • Run System File Checker to check for corrupted system files:
    • Search for cmd in the Windows search bar, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
    • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Allow the scan to complete and follow any on-screen instructions provided.

Reinstall Printer Using Add Printer Wizard:

  • Remove the printer from Devices and Printers.
  • Add it back using the Add Printer wizard and follow the prompts to install any necessary software.

Check for Conflicting Software:

  • Disable any third-party security software temporarily to ensure it is not causing the conflict.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
