Hi @Vanessa610

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Clear jammed paper from inside the printer

Remove any loose or jammed paper that is accessible from inside the printer.

  1. Open the front door, and then lift the ink cartridge access door.

  2. Wait until the carriage stops moving before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord.

    WARNING:

To avoid risk of injuries or electric shock, you must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer.

  4. Move the carriage to the far left and far right, and then remove any jammed or torn pieces of paper.

  5. Remove the paper path cover.

  6. Gently remove any jammed paper and bits of torn paper from the paper path area. To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands.

  7. Align the sides of the paper path cover to the guides inside the printer, and then slide it in to the printer.

  8. Close the ink cartridge access door and front door.

  9. Reconnect the power cord, and then turn on the printer.

If this does not work, then this could be a hardware issue.
