HP Officejet Pro 9018

I have an almost new Officejet pro 9018, I recently changed the black ink (HP ink cartridge), the touch screen changed to show the cartridge was accepted along with the OK button but it’s now stuck. OK won’t work, even though I get the audible sound.

I’ve turned off/disconnected it numerous time, no help.

I’ve opened it up to remove ink cartridges but the screen won’t change to allow me to move them into position to remove them.
it won’t go back to setup screen.. it’s just stuck!

I tried calling HP but got passed around and then cut off.
any help appreciated!

I had the exact same issue today! Tried the same things— turning machine on and off etc.  Can’t get help through HP

I have the same problem.  HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 printer control screen stuck on "Thank you for installing your HP Instant Ink Cartridge(s)" message.

The OK button does not clear the message. Neither does scrolling or swiping up/down/left/right.

Have rebooted, cycled power, and unplugged each 5 times--no change.

Therefore, I cannot get to the dialog screen to Copy or Fax.

This is killing me--I am in the middle of a legal proceeding, and this is causing me to fail.

UPDATE:  I went to www.hp.com/contacthp/ and filed a ticket requesting phone support ("get phone number" button), and was given a ticket and a phone number to call.  When I called, I was told this is a firmware problem that has since been fixed.  The tech was able to download this firmware update (or make it active, not sure which), and I got my home window back on the printer screen.  My printer was out of warrantee but they waived the $19.95 fee.

Of course, then they tried to sell me an extended warrantee.  Why do they need me to pay for that, when so many of the HP printer problems are caused by buggy firmware?  Two weeks ago, there was another one where you would open the door and the printhead would not move.

I don't think that customers should have to buy an extended warrantee to get firmware problems--which HP created--fixed.  So I didn't buy it.
