I am getting the "HP Protected Cartridge Installed" message.  I have installed cartridges that I removed from an identical printer that was replaced by HP. They were less that ten days old. How do I clear/disable the messages and use my nearly new cartridges.  I have accessed the firmware via the IP address. There is not an option available, that I can find, that allows me to turn off this message.

You can't. Once protected ink cartridges are useless. They can't be used in any printer beside in one that protected them.

Appreciate your response. This is too bad, the original printer was replaced by the factory and the cartridges were used for about 10 single documents.

Also, any cartridges received via the HP Instant Ink Replacement Service cannot be used unless one maintains enrollment in the program. For a home user with little demand for printing the service is a waste of money. Now I have about $100 worth of brand new cartridges that will go to recycling. Not a good PR of HP. What a waste.
