The red print cartridge light flashes.  I installed 2 new cartridges.  I unplugged printer and restarted. No change.  I tried downloading new drivers but my PC says 'failed to extract cab'.  Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP support community.

  1. Hold the cartridge by its sides.

  2. Dip a clean foam rubber swab or lint-free cloth into distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from it.

  3. Clean the copper-colored electrical contacts.

       CAUTION:

Do not clean the ink nozzles on the bottom of the cartridge

  4. Allow the contacts to dry for about 10 minutes.

  5. Use a second moistened foam rubber swab or lint-free cloth to clean the gold-colored electrical contacts in the carriage, inside the product.
