HP Recommended

Hi everyone,

I have an HP Envy Inspire 7955e and I’m trying to use the advertised feature of 2-sided printing on 4x6 matte photo paper. I’ve followed all the official instructions from the HP website and YouTube video, but when I reach the step where I’m supposed to select the “4x6 2-Sided” option in the HP Smart app (iOS), the option is missing completely.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

• I followed the steps exactly: loaded matte paper, opened the app, selected Print Photos, chose a photo, tapped Print—but there’s no 2-sided setting anywhere in the print options.

• I updated and reinstalled the app

• I tried on multiple iOS devices

• I contacted HP support multiple times, but they were unable to help. One rep even told me this feature isn’t supported on my printer—which isn’t true, since it’s listed as a feature for the Envy Inspire 7955e.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Is this feature still working for you in the current HP Smart app? Or has it been removed?

I’d love to hear if anyone has gotten it to work recently—or if it’s just not supported anymore despite being advertised.

UPDATE:

I figured out how to get the 2-sided 4x6 printing to work on my own. The issue wasn’t with my printer—it was with HP’s outdated instructions.

The steps listed on the HP website and in their YouTube videos are no longer accurate for the current version of the HP Smart app. I can’t even tell you how many hours I wasted trying to follow their old directions. I also reached out to HP support multiple times—via the website and Facebook—and no one was able to provide the correct, updated instructions for how this feature works now.

Super frustrating that something this simple became so difficult because HP hasn’t updated their documentation.
