Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My M209dwe printer tells me it's offline almost daily.  I open the smart app and it tells me the printer is online and ready.  Windows shows it offline and does not care what smart app says.  The print jobs simply stay waiting.

This printer is wired to the router and is assigned a IPv4 address by the DHCP.  The entire system is setup for IPv4.

The smart app assigns an IPv6 address and doesn't give any option to use the IPv4 the entire system knows and loves.  Nine computers and three phones use this network and it's a major pain to reset, reassign, reboot and even reinstall simply to get a few pages printed.

Why can't this be simple like HP used to be known for?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help.

Let's reset the network settings on the Printer:

To restore network settings to default settings 1. Press and hold (the Information button) for 3 seconds, and then release the button. All control panel buttons will light up. 2. Press and hold (the Wireless button) and (the Cancel button). The printer restarts and, depending on your printer model, the Status light pulses purple or (the Wireless button) starts blinking blue. This indicates that the printer is in wireless setup mode. You can now set up a wireless connection between the printer and your device. NOTE: Use the HP Smart app to connect the printer wirelessly.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
