Hi @HASSAN00711,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details about your HP Smart Tank 529 and the issue you're facing. You're on the right track by replacing the printhead and refilling the ink tank, but if you're still seeing a "Printhead is not communicating with the printer" error, here are a few steps to try.

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • While the printer is turned on, unplug the power cord.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn on the printer.

2. Check Printhead Installation

  • Power off the printer and open the access door.
  • Carefully remove and reinsert the new printhead, ensuring:
    • No protective tape or packaging is left on it.
    • The contacts are clean and properly aligned with the carriage.
  • Gently but firmly press the printhead into place until it clicks.

3. Clean the Electrical Contacts

  • Power off the printer and unplug it.
  • Use a lint-free cloth very lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean:
    • The copper-colored contacts on the printhead
    • The corresponding contacts inside the printer carriage
  • Allow everything to dry for 10 minutes before reinserting the printhead.

4. Reset the Printer Again

  • After reseating the printhead, perform a factory reset:
    • On the printer control panel, press and hold Cancel + Wireless for about 5 seconds until the power light blinks.
    • This should reset the system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
