I think a google.doc messed up my printer.  I can no longer print a picture and I always have to click  a resume button.  Any suggestions?

Hi @mu5key,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One suddenly stops printing pictures and keeps asking you to press the Resume button, especially after printing from Google Docs on macOS 15.0 Sequoia. You're doing everything right by trying to isolate the issue, and I’m here to help you get back on track.

1. Reset the Printing System (macOS)

This clears stuck jobs and resets printer settings:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list.
  • Choose Reset Printing System.
  • Re-add your HP Smart Tank 7602 and try printing again.

2. Clear the Print Queue

  • Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
  • Delete any stuck or paused jobs.
  • Click Resume Printer if available.

3. Check for Multiple Printer Instances

  • Sometimes macOS creates duplicates (e.g., “HP Smart Tank 7602 (1)”).
  • Delete all but one instance and reselect the correct printer.

4. Update Printer Firmware

5. Use HP Smart App or Image Capture

  • Try printing or scanning using HP Smart App or Image Capture (found in Applications > Utilities) to bypass any app-specific issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
