Hi @BB7545

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 7600 is powered on but not functioning as expected.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that all ink tanks have sufficient ink and that the ink is flowing properly. If the printer was recently set up, air bubbles might block the ink flow. Perform a printhead cleaning cycle to resolve this.

Run a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run a diagnostic test. This can help identify any underlying issues.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Access the printer's maintenance menu and select the option to clean the printhead. If the issue persists, manually clean the printhead using a lint-free cloth and distilled water.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for firmware updates for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve software-related issues.

Inspect the Paper Path:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions in the paper path. Even if the printer makes sounds, a blockage could prevent it from printing.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for at least 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Test with a Standalone Copy:

  • Place a document on the scanner glass and try making a copy directly from the printer. If this works, the issue might be related to the software or drivers.

Reinstall Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and download the latest version from the HP website. Reinstall the drivers and try printing again.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
