Hi team, I seem to have a really puzzling issue. My HP Smart Tank 5105 is not printing any documents I send to it, it still prints from scans and info (when the button is pressed).
The printer is showing as online and connected to my laptop wirelessly and is showing up on my HP smart account.
I have up dated the firmware, turned it on and off (fully unplugged the machine), un/reinstalled HP Smart.
I once had a 'time out' code come up but cannot get it to show up since then the code was 0x800705b4
Has anyone encountered this issue before? what was your fix?

@MyExPhys, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP Smart Tank 5105 won’t print even though it appears connected. Let’s walk through some steps to resolve this issue.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting:
Check Printer Status in Windows
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
- Right-click your printer > See what’s printing
- If there are stuck print jobs, click Printer > Cancel All Documents
- Ensure the printer is set as default
Check Network Configuration
Since you're using a mobile hotspot, ensure:
- Both printer and PC are connected to the same hotspot
- Mobile data is stable and not switching networks
- Try assigning a static IP to the printer via the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer
- Enter the printer’s IP in a browser to access EWS
- Go to Network > IPv4 Configuration and set a manual IP
Re-add the Printer Using IP Address
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
- Click Add a printer or scanner
- Select The printer that I want isn’t listed
- Choose Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname
- Enter the printer’s IP address (from the config page)
Check Windows Firewall or Antivirus
- Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus and try printing
- If it works, add exceptions for HP Smart and printer services
Try Printing from Another Device
- Install HP Smart on another phone or PC connected to the same hotspot
- Try printing a test document to isolate if the issue is PC-specific
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks Max3Aj, The work around that I found worked easiest was selecting the 'HP Smart Printing'. once the printer was fully set up on the HP Smart app. instead of selecting the specific printer option when on the printing screen. Hope that makes sense.
