Hello,

My printer was unplugged for a couple of weeks.
A few days ago, I plugged it back in and now the light is slowly blinking- it looks like a light green.
It’s not even responding to the power button.
I even tried to unplug it for a bit and plug it back, but the lights just keep blinking.
It doesn’t even make the startup sound and the ink cartridges don’t move over when I open the flap.

Hi @MorningstarAdam,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It seems like your HP Tango printer is experiencing a power or hardware-related issue after being unplugged for a couple of weeks.

I would need a few details to assist you better.

  •  Are you using the original power adapter and cable that came with the printer?
  • Have you tried plugging the printer into a different power outlet to rule out a faulty outlet?
  • Are you using a surge protector or power strip? If so, can you try connecting directly to the wall outlet?
  • Have there been any recent changes in your setup, such as new devices added near the printer, power surges, or interruptions?
  • Before it was unplugged, was the printer working properly, and was it up-to-date with the latest firmware?

Meanwhile, try the steps below and see if that helps.

Check Power Adapter and Cable:

  • Inspect the power adapter and cable for any visible damage or fraying. Ensure that the connection between the printer and the adapter is secure.
  • If available, try using a known working power adapter that matches the printer’s specifications.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and disconnect all cables.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for at least 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Plug the printer back into the power source and try turning it on.

Check for Blockages or Jammed Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door and gently check for any obstructions or jammed parts that could be preventing the cartridges from moving.
  • Avoid applying force; if you encounter resistance, stop and proceed to the next step.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @MorningstarAdam ,

Please find the remaining steps below.

Inspect the Printer’s Interior:

  • Shine a flashlight inside the printer to look for any small pieces of paper, dust, or debris that might be causing the issue.
  • Carefully remove any visible obstructions with tweezers or by gently tilting the printer to clear them.

Power Cycle and Hard Reset:

  • With the printer unplugged, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and try to power it on.

Check Indicator Lights:

  • The slowly blinking green light usually indicates a power or initialization error.
  • Refer to the HP Tango printer manual or support site to confirm the meaning of the specific light pattern.

Firmware Update via USB:

  • If the printer is unresponsive to normal power operations, attempt a manual firmware update by connecting the printer to a computer via USB (if possible) and using HP’s software to update the firmware.

  • If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be a hardware fault. Contact HP support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello,

Thank you for the response. To answer your questions: Yes, I’m using the original power cord. I’ve plugging it into multiple different wall outlets throughout the house, no success. There were no changes whatsoever with the setup; everything’s been the same. And it was working perfectly fine prior to the issue, and the firmware was updated.

I tried all the steps you provided, but none of it worked. I just checked today and the green lights are still slowly blinking.
