HP Tango X

The printer just stopped powering up.  I've tried the troubleshooting tips to no avail.  The printer is 2 or 3 years old.  We loved the printer and have no idea why it just quit working.  Of course, it's out of warranty and I'm not sure how to address the issue.  Printers should not be disposable!  Anyone else have this issue and find a resolution?

@Sheafclan, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP Tango X printer has stopped powering up and troubleshooting tips haven’t resolved the issue, here are some steps you can follow to try to fix the problem:

1. Check the Power Source

  • Ensure that the power socket is working by plugging in a different device.
  • Try using the printer with a different power outlet.

2. Inspect the Power Cord

  • Make sure the power cord is securely connected to the printer and the power source.
  • Look for any visible signs of damage on the power cord. If damaged, you might need a replacement.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and try turning on the printer.

4. Check for Any Lit Lights

  • If any lights are lit on the printer, it might indicate a specific issue. Refer to the user manual for decoding the lights.

I hope this helps.

I have tried all of the suggestions and nothing has worked.  Do you have any other solutions you can offer why the printer is not powering up.  Thank you.

Hey, thank you for your response

i suggest you perform a hard reset:

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull the power cord from the printer then from the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall and printer.

Let me know how it goes

If I can't turn the printer on (that is my issue - it won't power up), how do I perform a hard reset?  I'm happy to try it, but I have no way to turn on the printer to do the hard reset.

Hey @Sheafclan,

If the printer won't power on at all, unfortunately, there are no further steps we can take through this channel.

Since the issue remains unresolved, I suggest contacting our phone/chat support team for personalized assistance. They can provide one-on-one help and may even be able to work their remote assistance magic to fix the problem.

Note: There might be a nominal charge for the service they provide.
