HP Recommended

HP Tango will not print.  The "i" button is blinking white, as well as the ink cartridge button.  The "x" button is a solid red.  I installed new HP ink cartridges, and that did not help. Can anyone tell me how to correct? The diagnostics say that nothing is wrong.  Strangely, this began as soon as I canceled my Insta-ink membership.

It seems like you're encountering an issue with your HP Tango printer, and it's possible that the cancellation of your Insta-ink membership might be related. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

 

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Open the printer cover and ensure that each cartridge is securely in place.
  • Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure proper contact.

Check for Protective Tape:

  • Ensure that there is no protective tape or plastic covering on the ink cartridges. Sometimes, new cartridges come with protective coverings that need to be removed before installation.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 1-2 minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Even a small piece of torn paper can cause issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • Try resetting the printer to its default settings. You can usually find this option in the printer settings or through the printer's control panel.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer and reinstall it. Make sure you download the latest drivers and software from the official HP website.

 

Since the cancellation of your Insta-ink membership coincided with the problem, it's possible that there could be some communication or authentication issue. If the printer was previously configured for Insta-ink, you may want to check the printer settings and see if there are any options related to cartridge authentication or online services that need adjustment.
