@FKHansen, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error Message:
“Unable to print. Rendering failed. Print job unable to print. Please check if the printer driver is up-to-date and configured correctly.”

This typically indicates a problem with the print driver, app configuration, or communication between the printer and your Windows system.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve the "Rendering failed" error when using the HP Universal Print Application (UPA) with your HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One printer:

Ensure HP Smart App and UPA Are Installed Correctly

  • Download or update the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  • The HP Universal Print Application (UPA) installs automatically with HP Smart.

Remove and Re-add the Printer

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Remove the HP Smart Tank 7005 printer.
  • Reopen HP Smart, click Add Printer, and follow the prompts to re-add it.

Check for Windows and Driver Updates

  • Open Device Manager > Print queues.
  • Right-click your HP printer > Update driver.
  • Or visit the HP Smart Tank 7005 Drivers page to manually download the latest drivers.

Reset the Print Spooler

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Print Spooler, right-click > Restart.

Try Printing a Test Page

  • Go to Settings > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your printer > Printer properties > Print Test Page
