My HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4729 printer successfully connects on my android phone, but when i print something using my mobile, the printer is not responsive until i cancel the print request. Sometimes, if i still be patient for the print to come, the paper comes out empty or half printed.
I could see from other forums that there is a known issue with HP printer not printing as expected from Android phones.
Is there any work around for this? Please note that the printer works well from my laptop and from iOS mobile. Only my android phone has the problem.
Any workaround for this is highly appreciated.

Which application are you trying to print from?
Meanwhile:-
Update the printer firmware
Here are the steps:- Click here
Try printing from HP smart app:- Click here

Thank you for replying to my query. I have the latest firmware installed on my printer.

I just want to let you know that if i use HP Smart app and select the document, i am able to successfully print. If I select the PDF document or any other document directly, and select Print, the issue still persists.
In my wife's iPhone, HP Print and plug-in apps are not installed, but I can still print any document. In Android, it is not the case. Is this a known issue ?

Thank you for your response. After opening the document and selecting the Print option, I receive two options. One option with IP address and other option with the name DIRECT-xx-HP [model number].
The print was successful after selecting the second option. All these days, i was trying to print with the first option (displayed with IP address).
I think the issue is resolved. Thank you for your time on this.
