After installing the new printer cartridges I have found out by my own experience, that sometimes before you go deeper into the complex hard reset you recommended to me in a different thread, it is possible to resolve the problem by simply, resetting the whole system, which includes both the computer & printer at the power point.

This might solve the problem quickly & simply, & will enable you to avoid any complex troubleshooting. If I am wrong please post a reply message so that other people will not make a mistake by what I said on this reply.

That can help sometimes and it never hurts to take that step.  Why don't you give that a try and let me know what happens.

I looked at all your replies and your 1st reply was the answer to the question. This shows that even when a reply doesn't appear to be relevant, you should give it a go anyway because as I have found out it may be the solution.

Hi

I have the same problem with the same symptons. I did the hard reset.

With the printer still on I 1st disconnected all cables connected to the printer. After that I disconnected the power cord from the power source. I waited 60 seconds, then I 1st connected the power cord to the power source, after that I connected the cables to the printer. This did not resolve the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

There is definitely no paper jam at all.

After checking this I again tried the two resets I tried previously.

For the power on the printer the 10 seconds wait was when all printer lights were off.

For the hard reset which was done in exactly the same way & order in my previous message, the 60 second wait was when all printer lights were off & Printer power cable was disconnected from the source & & printer.

Problem was not resolved.

Thanks in advance

Hi craigbaker1,

What is your operating system? Is the printer plugged directly into a wall socket?

Hi everyone

My operating system is still the same as when I first had this problem, Windows Vista, with service pack 2.

I used the torch to check in all areas for paper jams or obstructions, & there was none at all.

When I try to print there is no noise or movement of cartridge, there is just silence.

The printer cartridge can easily be moved manually from each side to side.

I've also tried taking out each cartridge & reseating them.

After this I tried doing the resets of both that I mentioned before in the exact order & timing for having printer off. After these 2 types of resets I tried to print but the problem was not resolved.

Thanks in advance

Hi

To be more Precise about my operating system, just the same I mentioned when I 1st had the problem, it is "Windows Vista Home Premium" with Service Pack 2.

This time I tried the reset with the power button on the printer, having the 60 second wait while printer lights were off, but this did not resolve the problem.

Thanks in advance
