I just installed a new HP black ink cartridge which came directly from HP.  Now my printer is not printing the black ink.  I have cleaned and aligned the printheads to no avail.  I removed the new cartridge and installed it again and that didn't help. I disconnected the printer and reconnected and that didn't help.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I was able to get the printer to print with the new black ink cartridge.  I honestly don't know what made it start printing, but here is what I did.  I removed the new cartridge and then reinstalled it. The cartridge is a genine HP cartridge.   I then unplugged the printer from the outlet and plugged back in.  I clearned the cartridges and realigned them.  After doing all of this, still no black ink was printing. Out of frustration,  I shut down the printer for the night and began to look for a new printer.  In the morning, I thought I would try printing one more time.  It priinted in black ink and has been printing.  I really don't know which procedure helped with the printing or perhaps just letting it sit overnight helped.  Just keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen again.  This is the first time I had difficulty with this printer.

Thank you so much for answering my concern with this printer.  I appreciate it very much.

Why is the "accepted solution" a secret that cannot be shared in a post??? We ALL have the same issues. The cartridges for this printer simply will no print.  i HAVE CALLED REPEATEDLY SINCE DAY ONE! The printer is a piece of JUNK.  A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY.

I HAVE TRIED ALL THE RECOMMENDED STEPS BUT MY PRINTER STILL SAYS CARTRIDGE NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY. IT IS A GENUINE HP CARTRIDGE
