I select print from my laptop. The preview page shows up. My printer is listed as a selection to print. Under my printer is shows printer error. No error messages are showing on the printer. When I select print the preview just disappears and nothing is printed.

Let’s work through this together and see if we can get it working again. 😊

Here are a few steps to help troubleshoot the issue:

 

Restart the Printer and Your Computer

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Shut down your laptop completely (not just a restart).
  • Wait about 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and power it on.
  • Turn on your laptop and try printing again.

Check Printer Status and Connection

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP Envy 6055e and select See what's printing.
  • If there are any stuck print jobs, clear them:
    • Click Printer in the top left and select Cancel All Documents.
  • Ensure the printer status shows as "Ready" and not "Offline" or "Error."
  • If the printer is connected over Wi-Fi, try restarting your router and ensuring the printer is on the same network as your laptop.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Go to the HP Support Website and search for the latest drivers for the HP Envy 6055e.
  • Download and install the latest driver.
  • If you already have the latest driver, uninstall it and reinstall it from scratch.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website.
  • This tool can automatically detect and fix common printing issues.

Set as Default Printer

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click the HP Envy 6055e and select Set as Default Printer.
