Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂
I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer is unable to print and makes a beep sound.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Is the printer able to make a photocopy? If yes then it indicates that the printer and ink cartridges are fine.
- Did any hardware changes take place on the printer (paper jam, ink cartridge replacement, etc.)?
- Is there an error message on the printer screen?
While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
If the issue persists then please download and install the firmware update for your printer via this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/EN7640/EN7640_R1736A.exe
The printer needs to be restarted after the firmware is successfully installed. his reset will restore the printer to its original factory condition. A private message has have been sent to you with the reset instructions.
I sincerely hope this information helps. Feel free to keep me posted. I'm always here to assist you.
Good luck! 🙂
