HP Envy Photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

HP envy photo 7130 display is a blue screen with code C4EB8024

all the virtual buttons and the power button are flashing

Already tried all the actions found in the forum for this error

Did the following:

unplugged the power cord

leave the printer unplugged all the night

press the power button during 30 sec

I have the power cord directly in the wall plug (no surge protection)

The Printer will start up & the display shows the progression the 7 dots highlighted

The scanner moves a bit Then the display shows the code C4EB8024

After which all the virtual buttons and the power button will start flashing

Then tried the following:

- removing the cartridges

- shutting down the WIFI router

Still get same error message

If i plug it in using a USB cable; windows can "see" the usb printer but files will not print

I downloaded the upgrade firmware for the printer,  utility still cannot detect a printer (neither in WIFI, and neither with the WIFI router shutdown and the printer connected through USB cable)

I cant do an update through the menu of the printer because none of the virtual buttons are flashing

Any other way to do a factory restart?

Please help

@chrisguishard When you post multiple times the time to respond to you get's delayed as the post reset's each time, posting multiple times may also send your post into the spam box, hence we don't recommend you do that!

That said, I needed to confirm a few things,

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?

Are you able to move the carriage freely?

Let's try these steps here:

Let's start off by updating the printer firmware. If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to install the latest firmware update on your printer from our HP support website. Alternatively you can also try to update the printer firmware directly from the printer control panel.

For more details on how to update, please use this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to do a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Hello, Appreciate the response, and sorry for the multiple posts.

In response to your questions:

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer? Yes - No Obstructions

Are you able to move the carriage freely? Yes, it can move freely.

I am unable to update the firmware because the printer is not being detected by the computer when connected

Hard reset was tried multiple times.

Still Nothing I believe the device is faulty

@chrisguishard You should be able to upgrade the printer firmware without connecting to a computer,

here's what you need to do:

Many HP printers released in 2010 and later support Web Services, cloud-based printing services that include ePrint, firmware updates, and content that you can print directly from the control panel. These printers can use a direct Internet connection to find and install updates.

NOTE:

Supported printers must connect to a wireless or wired network with an active Internet connection to install updates. If the printer connects to the computer with a USB cable, this update method is not available. Continue to the method to download firmware from the HP website.

  1. Navigate to the printer update feature. Menu names and icons vary by printer.

    • Printers with an ePrint button or icon: Touch or press the HP ePrint icon or button ( or ), touch or press Settings or Setup if necessary, then touch or press Product Update or Check Product Updates.

    • Printers with text-based menus: Select the Setup, Service, or Settings menu, select Preferences, Printer Maintenance, or Tools if necessary, then select Web Services, Printer Update, or LaserJet Update.

  2. If you are prompted to sign up or accept terms of service, follow any on-screen instructions to enable Web Services and setup automatic updates. This procedure sets up the printer's Internet connection so it can receive updates.

  3. If the printer does not automatically start the update process, select Check for Updates or a similar menu to start the update.

Also, try:

Use the HP Smart app for Windows, Android, Apple iOS, and Mac to check for and install printer updates.

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer, smartphone, or tablet if you have not already installed it.

  2. After completing the printer setup, click or tap your printer name.

    NOTE:

Menu names, locations, and available settings vary by printer model.

  3. Under Advanced, select Printer Home Page (EWS) or Advanced Settings.

  4. Click or tap Tools or Web Services.

  5. Click or tap Printer Updates or Product Update, and then click or tap Check Now.

Thanks for the reply again,

Unfortunately due to the screen on the printer showing the error message "C4EB8024" none of the virutal buttons are working and im unable to access the control panel.

My control panel looks like this:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/225454iAA22B157EA14248D/image-size/large?v=1...   The virtual button lights are blinking

In regards to the App, I go to connect to the printer and its telling me it cannot connect to the printer.

Also i tried to connect directly to the printers wifi, and i get the following error message:

"An error occurred.

Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable.
Please try again later.

If you are the system administrator of this resource then you should check the error log for details.

Faithfully yours, nginx."

@chrisguishard Alright, if none of that worked, I'm afraid this would be concluded to me a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
