I have a HP Ink Tank Wireless 415  and I noticed that ink is not flowing into the printer's hose. Currently an error is showing E9. Can anyone suggest how to allow ink to flow into my printer?

Hi @Roshan78 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 showing an E9 error typically indicates an issue with the printhead or the ink system. If ink isn't flowing into the hose, it could be due to a blockage or an airlock in the system. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and resolve this:

Step 1: Verify Ink Levels

  1. Check the ink tanks: Ensure that all tanks have sufficient ink and that none are empty.
  2. Refill if necessary: Use genuine HP ink to refill any empty tanks. Do not let the tanks run completely dry as this can cause airlocks in the system.

Step 2: Prime the Ink System

If the ink isn't flowing, you might need to manually prime the system:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Inspect the hoses: Look for air bubbles in the hoses leading to the printhead.
  3. Gently prime the ink system:
    • Locate the priming pump on the printer.
    • Follow the instructions in your printer manual to manually draw ink into the hoses. This often involves using the printer's built-in priming function or carefully squeezing the ink tank to help ink flow.

Step 3: Address the E9 Error

The E9 error often relates to a problem with the printhead or ink delivery system:

  1. Reset the printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 10 minutes.
    • Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the error clears.
  2. Clean the printhead:
    • Open the printer cover and remove the printhead carefully.
    • Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water to clean the printhead nozzles. Avoid touching the electrical contacts directly.
    • Reinsert the printhead and ensure it is securely seated.
  3. Check for clogs:
    • Run the printer’s built-in printhead cleaning utility via the printer software or control panel.
  4. Reinstall the printhead:
    • If the problem persists, remove and reinstall the printhead to ensure proper seating.

Step 4: Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Connect your printer to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi.
  2. Download the latest firmware from the HP Support website.
  3. Update the firmware to ensure compatibility and resolve known issues.

Step 5: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect all cables, including power and USB.
  3. Wait for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Reconnect everything and turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.
