Hi @SandaSH1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand your situation. Here’s how to address the issue with your HP LaserJet M1132 MFP, where the cartridge drum unit is not turning, causing paper jams, even after trying multiple 85A cartridges and cleaning the paper pickup assembly.
1. Inspect the Cartridge Drum Gear
- Remove the toner cartridge.
- Rotate the drum manually (gently) using the exposed gear.
- If it doesn’t rotate smoothly or feels stuck, the cartridge may be defective even if new.
2. Check the Printer Drive Gear
- With the cartridge removed, look inside the printer where the cartridge gear would engage.
- Use a flashlight to inspect for broken teeth or misalignment.
- If the gear is damaged, it may require professional service.
3. Clean Internal Paper Path and Rollers
- Follow HP’s official guide: HP LaserJet Pro M1132, M1212 Printers - Paper Jam Error | HP® Support
- Remove the toner cartridge and gently clean the rollers and visible gears using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
4. Try a Known-Good Genuine HP 85A Cartridge
- If possible, test with a verified working HP cartridge from another printer.
- This helps rule out cartridge-specific issues.
5. Run HP App
- HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.
- It may detect mechanical faults or firmware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
