Good morning

I have an HP laserjet 500 MFP M 525 which displays an error message:

“Communication Lost (Device (-) Control Panel) Turn off then on. »

A few steps I tried to fix the problem:

-To restart

- Restart disconnected from the network

- Reboot connected to another network port

- Confirm that SNMPv3 is correctly configured

I have also noticed that when this issue occurs, a 2nd issue occurs where the printer gets stuck on the startup sequence just at 2/8. Previous firmware notes indicated that this was an issue with the sleep timer setting. Apparently, if this setting is misconfigured, it won't wake up on a sleep mode network port event as it should. It seemed to be related but alas the firmware update didn't stop it from happening for me.

Observations I made:

- When the problem occurs, the printer fails to start properly. It stops the boot sequence early to flash the communication error message.

- After the full reboot is complete, the problem will disappear for a while

- It often takes several reboots for the printer to "wake up" and start talking to the network again. Eventually you get lucky and it completes a full boot and the problem goes away.

- Event logs show corrupted data in configuration volume and corrupt information log file

- Event logs show multiple General Address Book Services errors

Anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions to fix the initial root issue of the "Communication Error" message?

Either the control panel or the formatter is failing.
