Hi @ITS-P,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing slow printing with multiple HP LaserJet MFP 227 SDN printers, there are several steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue. Slow printing can be caused by various factors, so it's important to systematically troubleshoot the problem. Here are some steps to consider.

  • Check Network Connectivity: Ensure that the printers are properly connected to the network and that the network infrastructure is functioning correctly. Slow network speeds can result in slow printing.
  • Driver and Software Updates: Make sure that the drivers and software on the computers sending print jobs are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause performance issues.
  • Print Queue Management: Check the print queue on each computer to ensure that there are no print jobs stuck in the queue, which might be causing delays. Cancel any pending or failed print jobs.
  • Printer Configuration: Verify that the printer settings are configured correctly. Check for any settings that might affect print speed, such as high-quality printing settings. Adjust the print quality settings to a lower setting if needed.
  • Network Load: Consider whether the network is congested during the times you're experiencing slow printing. Printing during off-peak hours might help.
  • Firmware and Software Updates: Besides updating the firmware on the printers, also ensure that the firmware of any print server or print management software is up to date.
  • Print Queue Optimization: Consider using a print management system or software to optimize the print queues and distribute print jobs more efficiently.
  • Driver Conflicts: Check for driver conflicts or software that might be causing delays. Sometimes, third-party printer management software can interfere with printing.
  • Printer Memory: Check the available memory on the printer. If the printer is dealing with complex documents, it may need more memory. Some printers allow you to upgrade their memory.
  • Replace or Upgrade Printers: If the printers are old or heavily used, it might be time to consider replacing or upgrading them to a model better suited to your needs.
  • Network Analysis: Conduct a network analysis to identify potential bottlenecks and latency issues that might be affecting print speeds.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Slow print speed is most often seen when using a Microsoft IPP or Class driver instead of the proper HP driver or HP Universal Printer Driver.
