Pulled this printer out of trash. Found error in the subject line and proceeded to use this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8duYjUs_MU to pull the transfer belt from machine. Used a vacuum with soft bristles to clean surfaces and then carefully blew out assembly getting a lot of loose printing dust out of machine and clearing sensor. Replaced transfer belt. Tested over weekend and it worked without error.
I now have a laser jet 🙂

As @Valsimot states, typically this error requires a DC controller update to cure it for good. Glad to hear the cleaning worked but I would check the engine controller firmware version listed on the the configuration page and is it is 14xxx revision update it as well.

It is not the standard firmware, it is the engine controller firmware, just to clarify. Known defect acknowledged by HP. If your controller version does not match below, I suggest you update. This based on over a hundred printers I have serviced with this error.
