HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One Printer - L511a
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP officejet 150 mobile printer with L511a sticker on the box. I downloaded the firmware update program from the official HP support page. After updating the firmware, the printer shows:

Version Mismatch

BtV ODB30070B FtV:FD00012B

Correct Version: BtV ODB30072B FtV:FD00012B

I can't access the printer now but it can be recognized by the USB. I tried to update the firmware again but the software is faded and is not allowing me to select the same printer again.

I search through HP support center and found that a client has the same problem. Unfortunately, the HP support guy sent the solution as a private message and asked the client to follow the instructions. How is that helpful to us?

Please Please Please do not reply me with useless solutions like how to put ink inside the printer or trying to restart the printer. I want the exact solution for example the correct firmware? and how to force update the firmware such as putting the printer in recovery mode or something?

I did not expect this to happen after using the printer for such long time.

Alright I have found the solution. I looked everywhere and there is even a Chinese hp request page that complains about the same error. I don't think HP is going to be honest and help me with it.

Here is what you do:

First you need to upload the firmware again. Since that is not possible because the printer's firmware is already updated. You have do these steps:

1- Extract the OJ150_R1344A file using any archive app.

2- Rename Omega_R1_OMR1FA1344AR.brn to Omega_R1_OMR1FA1345AR.brn (Just increase the version one number to trick the software that the firmware is newer the one that is already installed)

3- Open the EnterpriseDU.ini file and change any Omega_R1_OMR1FA1344AR.brn to Omega_R1_OMR1FA1345AR.brn

Now the flashing process is ready. To avoid the same problem, the firmware updater needs to finish the job after the printer restarts. Unfortunately, the printer sticks with mismatch error and does not allow the flashing operation to flash ODB30072B.brn. After playing with the service options (cleaning cartridges...etc) I was able to bypass the screen and operate the printer without problems. Restarting it again returns to the same error. Therefore, here's what you can do:

1- Open the flash updater software and select the printer. It will allow you to upgrade firmware thinking that printer's firmware is older.

2- Press update or next to flash the firmware.

3- The printer restarts and stops at the mismatch error. The flashing software keeps saying it is updating.

4- Go to the printers and devices page in windows. Go to printing services and try to print a test page or clean cartridge.

5-Try making an error like paper jam or opening the ink cover.

6- Return everything to clear the error such as closing the cover or removing paper jam and pressing okay.

7- The flashing software continues the flashing operation. It then says the operation fails but actually it succeeds (because the version that we entered is fake).

8- The printer returns to normal operation and the error disappears.
