Just purchased the officejet 3830. Downloaded software and set up the wireless connection. Inserted and aligned the cartridges and successfully printed the alignment page as well as the printer demo page. However, when I attempt to copy from the glass, or print from a word doc, it just prints out a blank piece of paper. Please help. Thank you!

Happy New Year!
Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you a new HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer is aligned and setup. However, the printer does not print and make a copy. A blank page comes out without any print. Not to worry, I'll do my best to assist you with this case.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
Now, you may try to make a copy using the glass bed and then make a copy using the document feeder. While making a copy using the glass bed, the scanner bulb inside the printer glows and moves to scan the glass. When you use a document feeder, the document will pass through the printer and the bulb glows and remains stagnant. If this is not happening with the printer then the evidence points towards an internal hardware issue. In such a case you may contact our HP phone support to explore the warranty options.
If the scanner bulb looks alright and functions the way it is supposed to then please perform the steps from this HP article.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please feel free to reply with the results. All the best! 🙂
