Hi all,
I've got a HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer - E910a which has been giving me print head related issues/problems. Before suggesting the usual routine of cleaning the print head, or unplugging the wire, wait for xx seconds, and restart - pls save your time cause I've already done all that and it didn't work - thnks
So here's the full story of how and what I have done so far for the print head problems.
First I contacted the official local HP distributors/technical department here but they told me that the print head (CN643A) is discontinued, and hence they can not order a replacement for me.
Not wanting to give up this A3+ printer (only 4years old from new, with just little over 1500 pgs printed!), I decided to order few print heads off ebay. Knowing that these will be probably refurbished or just plain knock offs, I knew it wouldnt be that easy, so I bought 3 in all from different sellers. Surprisingly none of them worked. I was suspecting it might be the other end of where the print head seats on (that white thing with contacts opposite to the print head, so I've cleaned it with alcohol too, but still the same)
Errors so far were as follows
0xc19a0020 for the original printhead
0xc19a0040 for the different ebay replacements (one of which tho said it is incompatible)
Finally I got my hands on a truly genuine print head from another original 7500a which was for scrap (for reasons not related to print head) and it worked, however since this scrapped printer has been a long time abandoned in a garage, the head was clogged. Since it was not giving me the error message, I tried cleaning it, both with alcohol and also through the printer cleaning head procedure (done it 4-5x in a row but still nothing came out), but unfortunately still nothing is coming out (I've also installed brand new genuine cartridges in case the other ones "dried out" but still nothing showed up in print)
ok, so my question is
• is it even still possible to order a BRAND NEW GENUINE print head for this printer??
• if not, are there are reputable replacements which I can buy?
• could the fault possibly be the part where the print head seats (no idea what it is called, does that have a different error message?)
thnks in advance
any help much appreciated since I do not want to throw away this printer just for a print head
